Aftermarket block question

So I was looking at the block on my new project car, 1992 GS-X, and realized the block was painted gray, and for the life of me, I can't remember my other DSM's having gray painted blocks.

Some one told me that Jasper paints their blocks gray.

Can anyone confirm that?

It's not aftermarket, no one makes an aftermarket block for the iron block mitsu's.
Evo's I think I saw some billet blocks, as well as honda and LS series blocks. Way, way expensive.

The stock iron is as good as you're gonna get. Someone probably rebuilt it and sprayed it gray.

No, just like a flat, utilitarian gray.

But I guess aftermarket is the wrong word to use. It's not like aluminum or anything, it's just not OEM. I know jasper has 4g63 blocks, just reconditioned pretty much. I'm not sure if they repaint them.

I had a jasper LM1 in my old monte carlo, but I can't remember if it was painted or not.

From everything I've seen I've never seen an aftermarket 4g63 block. Maby if it were as popular as a 2jz it would happen.

Again, after market was the wrong choice of words. I tried editing the thread name but, can't. Maybe a mod could change it to "Jasper Block?"

Either way, I checked around some more, and Jasper does paint them gray, but I can't think of any other way to determine if that's what it is or not.

I have never heard of jasper building blocks for a DSM..... Why is it a big deal anyway... What internals do you have???

i know dsmgraveyard paints some of theyre built blocks. you can pick any color, maybe that person picked gray...

The only DSM block you can get is the one cast by (or, under contract for) Mitsubishi.

However, grey spray paint is available in its own rainbow of colors from a plethora of producers. Your almost-twenty-year-old block has been painted.

Actually i believe jasper does make a block for the car... and they have painted some of their stuff that ive seen grey... anyway... It was more than likely sprayed as most everyone stated already... The real question now is, was it rebuilt and painted or did some kid just spray the engine while it was in the car cause he didnt like the old worn out ugly color.

I know for a fact that Jasper atleast makes rebuilt 4g63s. I called them up and asked them, but they couldn't give me an answer right away when I asked if there was any way to check the block and make sure it was a Jasper.

I'm totally cool with it being the "stock" block and just sprayed, but I'm just wanting to know, you know?

Its got all stock internals as far as I can tell.
