Ok, i spent my day today installing a cheap set of ebay coilovers (i know, i know bad). I dont mind the fact that the ride is horrible. What i cant stand is the constant clicking and clunking coming from the suspension everytime i hit a bump now. Does anyone have any idea how to stop this or did i do something wrong?

When i put them on on the rear i pulled out the strut and pulled off the stock spring put on the adjustment part of the coilover with the oring, then the spring, then the top part and put the strut back in place. I noticed that the top piece of the coilover separated from the spring when the strut expands, is this normal? So anyway i put the wheel back on and let the car down and the coilover came back together.

For the front i basically did the same thing, only it took a lot more time to do it. I did have to cut two of the stock springs off because of rusted in place struts.

I did put in the little gasket type things that were included and squeeking isn't a problem. But i cant stand the clicking and poping that its making now.

Any help would be great if noone knows im putting the stockones back in and forgetting the lowering thing all together.

Thanks,

Zac

yeah, i put those in. Any other ideas?
Well, the thing with the ebay springs/coilovers is that they are to short for the stock shocks. When the suspension is unloaded, the spring can move freely, thus causing the clacking noises. No idea why they were designed this way, prob so they would be a bolt on and not require a spring compressor to install like most higher end spring setups, but as far as i know there is no real way to fix this.

This is true also, they're very poorly designed. Did you put the large flat rubber rings inbetween the coilover spring and the adjusting mount?

I never had them on my car actually, friend had them on his, he got tired of them and replace them, i stole them from him, but havent installed them yet. I guess you could try and stock some massive washers or something to equal out the loads for teh strut and teh spring, but that would raise your ride height. Your best bet is to jsut replace them with something a bit more higher end.
