I have searched the forums and have found nothing to answer my propblem.

My problem is I switched from my stock fpr to a adfr. When I first started the car to check for fuel leaks, found a leak fixed it then tried to adjust it.

It adjusted to 42 and then kaput, it would'nt go higher nor lower. Took the line off and same result, stuck at the same setting.

Are you sure you have it installed correctly? ie. the inlet and outlet hoses switched around. just a thought.

It is installed correctly.

Has anyone heard of doing this? Another dsmer on codsm recomended to do this after a install of a high presure fuel pump and a afpr. Below is his suggestion.

It still sounds like a problem with the regulator...but is your in-tank siphon drilled out? I know this applies to later AWD 2g's but not sure if the 95/96 model has the in-tank siphon.

There is a very small hole for the fuel to return through, so when using a high flow pump you must enlarge the hole to run the correct fuel pressure at idle.

Before I enlarged the hole in the siphon device, my car would idle with too much fuel pressure and the return line had a good bit of pressure also. After drilling it out to just under 1/8", my fuel pressure at idle dropped by something like 4-6psi if I remember correctly.

Yes this is a possibility. Since your car is awd then it will have the siphon in it because the awd tank has a bevel in it for the driveshaft to go through. It has a siphon to pull fuel from the other side of the tank to the side of the tank where the fuel pump is. There has been discussion of this and you should not drill it out more than an 1/8 or the fuel will not siphon.

Well the siphon wont cause the car to stumble under wot because you'll be using more fuel under wot so the return line wont be under pressure or overrun. However the fuel pressure *could* be an issue under wot if the base pressure isnt right or the regulator isnt rising on a 1:1 ratio with boost. I looked at your profile and didnt see a wideband. If you dont have one then that should be high on your priority list. That way you can see what the afr looks like at wot, and see what is making it stumble beit too rich or lean.

Ive been trying to tune it with a safc and logger. I just started working on the car again after two I had to let it sit. Wideband is on the list of "to gets".

On my logger my trims are pretty close to being zeroed out. I just noticed also it's
spitting white smoke out under boost. Smels a little like oil. I have a small oil leak from the valve cover. No shaft play in or out. The oil leak is spilling out onto the ex. manifold, dumb question could oil be running in the mani and burning out the the tail? Just a hopeful theory!

Or you could just have debris in the line causing a block, happened to me. While I was under there, I did drill out the siphon hole bigger.

Yes he is referring to the return line, and it could be a possiblity there is debris in the line. Take the line off the regulator and disconnect it from the tank and blow some compressed air through it.

On your logger what do the front o2 volts look like at wot? As mentioned a front o2 isnt a failsafe but usually I notice mine are at about .96 or so at wot when my afr is 11.0.

As for the smoke, usually white=coolant and blue=oil. Are you losing any coolant? The oil leak; if I understand you correctly, I highly doubt an oil leak from the valve cover is going to leak in the exhaust manifold and out the exhaust. It is a possibility that oil could be leaking from your valve seals and out your exhaust manifold causing it to smoke though. Just speculation though, verify if the smoke is coolant or oil first and lets go from there.

After I put the afpr back on the car it started to smoke out the exhaust. THe smoke is a greyis color and smells heavily of gas. It didnt do it with the stock fuel fpr . So I was thinking could my afpr tooken a crap on me for sitting for two years?

Going to to put the stocker back on to see if that is the problem.
Im not burning oil or anyhting so I guessing the afpr did crap on me.

What would be anyones guess on this?

I think its just crap I looked up the make and its a ebay speacial:notgood:
Just going to run the stocker for now. I dont do much driving in the talon. With the 255 and a rewire with 450s no afpr, with this give me any problems. Maybe run rich?

IMO its dangerous. i have a friend, whose motor went because the gas washed the cylinders, about a year after his 255 install. i have a 255, but i rock the stock pump because i dont have an AFPR

To the OP thats normal smoke, i think you have been off the street so long you forget these things. Its alright, i had to pull 2 days, it seemed like forever, props to you i would never have made it as long as you
