Hey,
i am interested in putting a AFPR on my car since i already have a pump and could use the extra control for up top and gaining some HP.

What are you guys running?
What are the best options?
Where do i get it?
What is exactly an AFPR for?

I was looking into a unit for DSM's that bolts-on that is Rissing fuel rate regulator but can't find any sellers.

Here is a place that sells bolt on AFPR for both 1gs and 2gs.OnGreenPerformance It is the exact same one that FullThrottleSpeed sells but they DO have them instock. An adjustible regulator is use to modify your base fuel pressure by either raising or lowering it. When we upgrade fuel pumps sometimes it bumps up our fuel pressure at idle therefore causing a rich condition and making tuning a bit harder. With an adjustible regulator we can now lower it back to stock levels so that we know where we are starting at. It can also work the other way around when we are in need of more fuel. We could up our fuel pressure thus providing more fuel with the same size injectors.

anyone running the bolt-on's?

Does anyone know if these are Rising Rate Fuel Pressure Regulators??

Also my car has stock inyectors and has a pump, i am on a 14b, it sometimes seems to hesitate up top do you think i could take care of this with the regulator? how??

Thanks

If you get a bolt on, get the Buschur. That being said, I have an Aeromotive with the slowboy install kit. I would not recommend the install kit because the hose ends were the biggest PITA to get on, but everything was really nice. You don't really gain any HP from the regulator. I was running really rich before it because I had a 255 with stock regulator. So adding the aeromotive let me bring the pressure back down to stock and I gained some hp because I wasnt running so rich anymore

The hesitation is probably because you are overrunning the stock regulator and are very rich up top. Do you get any black smoke at WOT? You probably do need an aftermarket regulator and will want to bump tthe base fuel pressure back down to 43psi

How do you know if you are rich or lean? i mean other than a pocketlogger or whatnot

Yes they are rising rate regulators (I wouldn't post something that wouldn't work). The Buschur bolt on is $275 with a gauge. The FullThrottleSpeed bolt-on with a gauge option is $100 cheaper and it gets the job done. Besides the Buschur is only capatible with a 1g fuel rail.

The old fashioned spark plug way. By seeing big puffs of black smoke when you go WOT.

If you don't have a logger spark plugs and black smoke will tell you, but I can't emphasize how nice a logger set up is.

Like Ezzard said they are rising rate regulators, specificly they are 1:1 ratio rising rate regulators as required by the way a DSM fuel system works. For ever psi change in manifold pressure or vacuum the fuel pressure increases or decreases the same amount.

i picked up the aeromotive unit from www.fuelinjectorclinic.com they are having a special on them and the install kit. mine was 140$ for the AFPR, and 115$ for the install kit which included the fuel pressure gauge.

Oh, yea I run mine at 43.5 psi, stock fuel pressure on a 2G.

I agree with the vote on Full Throttle, they tend to have a bit of a wait, but they will tell you exactly where you are on the waiting list. Great product, I adjust my fuel pressure anywhere I want with a rewired 255hp walbro.
