I just installed my afc neo and its not showing rpms I checked the wiring and thats not the problem also now my factory boost gauge sits at 7 psi at idle and my aftermarket gauge sits a 15 vac

its always been at 15 vac it holds boost steady at 15 no drops. as for the factory gauge it never did it until I intalled the afc.

That should tell you right there that it has to be in the wiring. Where did you get the instructions for wiring up the neo?

Try APEXi AFC Neo Install - My Pro Street

And of course http://www.vfaq.com

From what I've read it's about the same as the safc II install. Good luck with the troubleshooting. :thumb:

I did use those links when i installed it but I have a 90 car and ecu and a 91 jdm motor how would i hook up the tach wire

Ok I did a little research and found that the wiring diagram that came with the afc is wrong. They told me to hook up the rpm wire to the power transistor for #1 and #4 coils pin #54. On VAQ it says that the ignition pulse (tach) wire is #109, and the rpm wire is #21 crank angle sensor. well I don't have a factory tach because I have a jdm engine and a 90 ecu. Is it ok to connect the tach wire to the cas and run it on 2cyl. mode?

If correctly installed the JDM motor still uses both the CAS and provides a signal for pin 109.
You can hook it up per the manual and run set to 2 cyl mode but why?

The engine was not installed correctly. I bought it like this. The coil is a 91+ and I haven't found a noise filter for my tach wire yet. So I think 109 is dead for now and I'm not shure if I even want to fix it. I'm most likely going to put an aftermarket tach in thanks for the help I just needed to know if I can hook it up to the cas or not.

I rewired the rpm wire to the cas wire and everything works fine now. apexi need to get there wiring diagrams right i will never follow company instructions again.

Which wires did you use for your maf input and output?

I assume the one in the SAFC manual or listed in the VFAQ APEX'i AFC installation for the Galant VR4

3) Air Flow Signal: Cut the Green wire with a blue stripe and Orange bands, corresponding to the connector hole as shown above (top row 3rd from left). This is the Air Flow signal wire. The AFC will intercept this wire and allow you to adjust the MAS signal to the ECU so leave enough wire from the connector so you can splice in.
4) AFC Connections: Connect the Orange wire (input to the AFC) of the AFC harness to the wire you cut from the 24 Pin connector. Connect the Pink wire (output from the AFC) of the AFC harness to the part of the wire still on the connector.

bro I'm glad you got it OK but if you want something sick check out boomslang they made me a harness i didn't have to do not one wire its sick and only 180 bucks i am very new to the DSM world but that made my life very easy to install these complicated controllers so i highly recommend there product i got my AFC in tonight works perfect well don't have my wide band in just yet so to anyone that dose not want to do the wiring check out boomslang
