Resolved AEM wideband questions

Ok so i need a aem uego wideband sensor what sensor do i buy the bosch 17018? And do i just put it into the rear o2 bung? Never put one in a 2g and my 1g i ran it at the o2 housing (i know not ideal)

That is the correct sensor.

If it were me, I'd use my rear O2 input as your wideband input and leave your front O2 alone. It will make things easier when dialing it in.

Im gonna be putting a catback on this coming weekend and i was gonna delete the cat

As mentioned in the link, exhaust leak out of the flex joint and cause borked readings for a wideband that far back. I've heard people having good luck with these - I've been running my wideband in the o2 housing for 3 months now with no issues (fingers crossed) and just using the narrowband simulation that the AEM UEGO has. Has worked really well so far

You can simply buy a nut that fits the o2 and weld it on way cheaper that the part from aem

Yeah, it's an O2 sensor bung. The welding can be a pain for a lot of people though - unless you have nice friends haha. Regardless, I wouldn't put it post-cat/post flex joint to get as accurate and quick readings as possible.

Well i know where to locate the o2 thats not in question regardless im not having a new bung installed as i have a stock downpipe nor is the car being tuned right now but i am installing the gauge just to be curious whats going on but im only going with a chip for tuning so it should be A ok but obviously need to monitor

Alrighty then - to me it defeats the purpose of buying and installing a more precise (wideband) sensor if you're going to put it in a place that can give you inaccurate readings. Might as well just log the front o2

Front o2 hurts nothing its still a good reading and im not gonna leave it there im waiting till i get a new downpipe to put a bung in for it until then its not gonna hurt anything putting it in the rear it wont be off by much just slightly maybe in the flex pipe

I run front o2 stock, AEM in dp pre flex, rear o2 stock but not used my WB uses that pin at ECU.
