Does anyone have pictures of their install??? i just put it on and my car and it wont stay running, i think there is something wrong with my fuel pump it idles low and wont stay running... i have to keep my foot on the gas alittle to keep it from barley stalling... does anyone from ohio akron area know a good shop to go to (maybe Shepherd Racing), im sure i have the fpr on right i just want to see how everyone else has it... any help would be great thanks

Did you pick up a fuel pressure gauge with the AFPR? It's possible you are running too little or too much base fuel pressure that the ECU cannot correct for via fuel trims.

i didnt get a fp gauge yet but when i had the other fpr... it was fine until one cold night i heard a loud noise coming from the fuel tank after driving and my fuel pressure was at 75psi so i shut off my car and ever since that happend whenever i started the car the fuel pressure was at 25psi all the time and it used to be at 46psi and my af gauge was always at rich but now its lean so i dont know whats going on... i heard sometimes the supra fuel pump will get out of place in the fuel tank sometimes and make it not run right??? but i dont know much about installing fuel pumps, im not sure what to do... staytuned might be right because one of the vacuum lines did break it was a plastic line but i taped it for now, ill post some pics tomorrow. . . thanks for the help

It's possible that the seal btw the pump and the outlet "hood" was broken, either the o-ring blew out/unseated or the bracket holding the pump in place loosened.

When I had issues from the o-ring on my Walbro the car would be hard to crank and ran lean due leakage back into the tank from that seal.

A buddy had installed an SX AFPR with the SupraTT using the flared screw-in AN adaptor fitting on the inlet instead of the non-flared which caused excessive base FP due to the fitting "bottoming out" inside the AFPR (blocked the fuel passage). His base FP was like 75psi and ran like ass for weeks before he figured out the problem.

Running like this for an extended time could also cause the above situation with seal rupture.

IMO a FP gauge is mandatory for any AFPR install :thumb:

i just finished taking my fuel pump out and everything seems to be fine, lost alot of fuel though.... the bolt was in place tight and i cant find any broken seals. i think im going to check the fuel filter tomorrow hopefully i get some better luck with this car.... any ideas of what else could it be?

Hi,

I would get the gauge and make sure I am on the right fuel pressure. Did you rewire the fuel pump? What kind of noise was it, for example running over something and you hear a bang or was it something else? Did you hear that noise with the car running?

im picking up a fuel pressure gauge today at summit racing, i was driving home and there was no loud bang it just started to make a noise... it was only when the car was running. It was a loud whining noise...

Hi,

Could that be the whinning of the pump working? My opinion, I think you are running to low fuel pressure and that the whinning sounds is from your fuel pump in working conditions. My walbro makes noisy sounds too.

i understand that but it only made that noise when the fuel pressure was at 75psi because of that shitty fpr i had, i think it was somehow blocking the fuel and it made my fuel pump make that noise.. could my fuel pump just be broke?

Hi,

Could it be that the previous FPR was broken or wide open that it caused the high fuel pressure? If so, it could have caused the fuel pump to run continuously at high volume. That might have been the noise. Can you take the fuel pump out and test it with water? See if it runs well.

Hi,

With my setup, I have one going to the manifold, one going to the fPR and one to my boost controller sollenoid.
