So i just got my new AEM SRI woot woot! anyways, upon installing i was tightening this peice and it snapped... awesome.

Anyways I have no idea what to call this to search for it, or where I can get a new one. Unfortunently I got the SRI off ebay so i'm not sure if i could get much customer support from AEM. Appriciate any help.

I tried looking for another on aem's site and on ebay with no luck. If it were mine, I would just JB weld it until I could find a replacement or fabricate something similar (I'm thinking all thread and a stack of washers).

it's just a rubber mounting bracket/shock. Bring it into autozone, and i'm sure they will either have it or can order it for you.

It is to allow your intake to have a mounting point, yet move with the engine, to relieve stress at the coupler.

If you have stiff motor mounts, I wouldn't worry about it. Mine broke as well; I just used a bolt and a few washers.

Thanks for the info, I ended up taking it to autozone but the person had no idea if they had anything like it at all. I do have polyurathane motor mounts, so my engine shouldn't move to much, so I just threw on a bolt and a couple washers. I might try taking it to advanced or a hardware store later for an actual replacement, just for looks purposes ;)

So 2 years later.... RESOLVED LOL. Its called a rubber mount 1" x 6mm or part #1228599 (yet searching for the part number on AEM brought no results). Now that I got a V2 system, that was missing the seem piece going to try and find a replacement, having a hell of a time though, but if anyone else is having this problem, hope this helps some

ahhhh closure...

**EDIT**
finally found a place that sells it, turns out all AEM intakes use the same piece, also had to search in google for AEM-1228599 This is the first website I found, but there are many others.

NOW finally closure!

(any chance i can get a mod to rename this thread to something like "AEM rubber mount" or something so its easier to search for for other members?)

Mine broke back when I was using an AEM intake as well. I believe I used a long bolt and a rubber shock absorber bushing that I found in my junk bin as a replacement.

You'd think that for what AEM charges for a piece of aluminum piping that they could include some quality fasteners.

thanks for the thread change, also i completely agree with what you said. Even though it was 2 years ago I am pretty sure i wasn't over tightening it or anything, but oh well. I picked up 3 this time :p . Ended up going with a different website though, the one I linked was 2 penny's on the part cheaper but wanted $15 for shipping ><
