Location in video: Behind steering wheel in front of factory gauge cluster
BOOST - No error lights
OIL PRESS. (Eng.) - No error lights
Location in video: A-pillar
EGT - Reads 290 degrees Fahrenheit
OIL TEMP. - Both error lights flashing, reads 300 degrees Fahrenheit
Location in video: Above climate controls
COOLANT TEMP. - LEFT error light on, reads randomly (probably because the needle stopper is missing, never came on that gauge)
OIL PRESS. (Turbo) - One error light on (I think it's the LEFT one, gauge face is crooked) and the needle tries to spin the opposite direction of the other gauges when performing the starting sequence
NOTE: The car these gauges are installed in has a new engine and has never been started, so none of these gauges have actually had to "sense" or "gauge" any pressures or temperatures yet. I don't even know if that matters or not.
My questions are:
1. I made sure to not kink any wires and that all my connections are solid, yet my COOLANT TEMP. and OIL PRES. (Turbo) gauges both display one error light each. Will they go away on engine start up, or did I do something wrong?
2. Why is my EGT gauge reading so high when the actual temperatures are room temperature?
3. Why is my OIL PRESS. (Turbo) and OIL TEMP. needles spinning the opposite direction of all the other gauges upon being turned on?
4. My COOLANT TEMP. gauge is missing the needle stop(didn't come in the box and I didn't notice until after I finished installing it), will this matter? or will the needle know where to go when the sensor reads temperature?
I'm assuming all the error lights are due to shitty connections, the wires/connectors these gauges come with are pretty picky it seems. I'll add a video of the OIL TEMP. sensor connector in a bit, its totally loose at the sensor and is definitely why that gauge is flashing both lights.
