Are cam gears a worth while investment? i am looking at getting a set of aem tru time gears and would like some input about the good and possible bad of having them.

It all depends on what you've done to your car so far. Changing the timing (which is what the AEM cam gears do) is usually far down the list of potential modifications - in other words, you need to significantly put your car under boost and/or nitrous before you need to start thinking about advancing/retarding the timing.

My opinion there a wast of money, unless your car is modded with aftermarket camshafts, or unless you do all your tuning on a dyno. Other than that there are better things to spend your money on.

I have some tru time aem camgears and I agree....eventhough im not actually going to mess with them until my car gets dyno tuned....but it is great for looks...and it gets other people's attention because they don't normally see AEM cam grears on any car....so its kinda kool.....they are not that expensive... and it just gives it a better look to the whole engine bay.
:D :dsm:

what is a good price on a set of aem cam gears, the best i have found is around 150 per gear so like 300 a set.
