I own a 97 RS. I upgraded my header, downpipe and exhaust and added an AEM Short Ram intake. Lately, I have been hearing a slight knocking noise when the engine is at idle. I don't think (at least i hope) its not a rod. I'm not sure what else it could be though. Also, since adding the mods, the car really lags and hesitates until i hit 3000 RPM in 3rd gear and up. I'm a newbie tuner (yes I admit) so any advice would be helpful. Thanks for everything.

do you have a CEL? flashing CEL? when i had a bad plug wire my engine thumped around at idle and ran like shit up untill 3k rpms and then ran smooth. it also misfired when accelerating before i got to that rpm. any misfires?

my 1g did the same thing. had a bad spark plug wire. ran liek ass up until 3k then ran beutiful. check the wires.
