advice on rear motor mount

Ok so my front roll stopper was broke and bolt was loose so i replaced it , fine but when i still go off of first gear sometimes it still makes a LIGHT thunk noise where as before it was LOUD so I suppect the back mount is bad. Any advice on how to get to it ? btw 2g GST

Lots of lots of extensions. That rear mount is PITA.

Other then that, its as simple as the front mount but reaching it through other stuff is pita.

Pull battery+tray, pull off cruise control and I would think you have enough room to reach it. Another option would be to pull the intake manifold off or go at it past the AC compressor.

ah joy sounds fun i hope this is the problem .. I mean my front stoper was broke in HALF and i drove it like 45 minutes home after i first heard the THUNK so I'm guessing the back is still either loose or broke

well if anyone else has advice go ahead and throw it my way . I will either wait till it warms up abit and tackle it myself or I may stick it in a shop and have it done , not positive which yet

Pull the battery, the tray, unplug whatever sensors that get in the way, find/borrow a good amount of extensions to get to the 3 bolts holding it to the car, put a box wrench on the passenger side nut of the motor mount, then i found it easier to go under the car to loosen the bolt, and two of the three bolts for the mount off the tranny. It's pretty much out after you do all that, shouldn't take much longer then an hour or two IMO.

Get used motor mounts from the junkyard and fill the in steps (a little over time to dry) with windo weld. and replace them my have lasted 5 years and controlled wheel hop. Great free mod!
