Im drawing to a close on my 2g 7bolt rebuild and ive ran into some problems and just wanted to see if i could pick everyone`s brain about this stuff.
First thing: Adjusting the A/T shifter cable. How do you do it? and what should i be looking for when i do it? When i was messing with it today after putting my tranny fluid in, i turned the key on, and i just went through the gears to sdee if everything was good. I hear the shifting servos activate (theres a little buzz noise) after every gear and i did the same thing but with the car running but on the jack stands and after every time i shifted the car through P,R,N,2,L and the wheels obviously move when i do this but i have not done all this while the car was on the ground running under its own power. So with that said, should i just go ahead and test the car out on the street and see what happens now? I dont want to mess anything up thats the last thing i need.
Second thing: Im using the old transmission cooler (the small cooler in the front bumper on the driver side) as my new power steering cooler. Now a buddy of mine went to fill it up for me and caped off the power steering tank and then something funny happened, the fluid was like all bubbly and foamy and it built up so much pressure that the fluid started to leak out the top just a little bit. What can this be from? We were thinking either is lots of air in the lines or the lines are hooked up wrong? I know there are two lines coming from the tank and all but should the bottom line coming from the tank go to the bottom nipple on the cooler and the top line go to the top of the cooler?
As you all can see, i need some advice
any would be greatly appreciated
(sorry for the long post)
