ACT2100 finally is gone, I think. Are these good warning signs for replacement?

I have a ACT2100 clutch that I have somewhat been concerned about for awhile now. After I would run it a few times back to back it would heat up and I thought what I smelled was clutch. My master cylinder and slavce cylinder both have roughly 6,000 miles on them. I have a SS clutch line and clutch pedal pressure is constant when the transmission is in neutral or in gear.

Today I was out cruising in my DSM for awhile and everything felt normal. I was at a red light and when it turned green I pushed the clutch in, put the transmission in first gear, and started to let out the clutch. It engaged at the same height as normal, but right when it got about half way through engagement the car kind of jerked and was fully engaged before I let the clutch out all the way. When the car jerked the clutch pedal would almost feel like it went out faster or wanted to go out faster then how fast I let it out with my foot. Now, it is doing this in about every gear (the car jerking feeling and pedal problem).

I hope that made sense. What is your opinion? Time for a ACT2600 (yes I have read the horror stories by the way)? Thank you in advance :thumb:

Ok I took out my car again to try and see what was going on. Well I got on the street and shifted fast to 2nd gear. I couldn't change gears at all from here so I pulled off the street. What happened was my master cylinder rod was so far out (yes nut is still there but last time I adjusted it I didn't realise how far out it was) that it actually CAME out from the pedal adjustment. I put it back in and now it looks like I need a longer adjustment rod or slave cylinder rod. I guess I should have shimmed the pivot ball more last time I had the transmission off. I still smell clutch burning sometimes though so maybe I should replace anyways. I don't know anymore. What would you do?

There's a company that makes a longer rod that addresses this issue with the ACT Clutches. I think it might be Road Race Engineering. Good Luck

I had the same occurences, and i have the 2600 now.

Came with the car when i bought, ill never buy an ACT clutch again, right know i have less than a quarter inch of pedal engagement - exedy clutch will be going in on thursday/friday.

it's not RRE, it's the DSM shop in Des Moines, Iowa. Something along the lines of voo doo shop or something, to late for me to remember.
