My buddy is selling an ACT Stage one disc and pressure plate for $170. Thoughts and comments from you guys would be great. Is it worth $170? I think the pplate is a 2600.

New or used? How does he drive the car? If used, how many miles? How much power was getting put through it?
Post some pics. If its in great condition 1000 miles, I would say yes.

But then again, is your car built?
It wouldn't hurt, well except for the sweet left thigh and calf you'll have.
If its a 2100 RRE doesn't recommend it for anything less than 13 secs(don't quote me), so think about future proofing yourself there too.

It has less than 500 miles on it. He took it out and replaced it with a stronger clutch. At the time it was his dd so he didn't run it hard. As of right now my car is stock with the exception of a 16g. I don't plan on putting my car on the strip anytime soon either.

He replaced it because soon after he installed it he started upgrading and wanted to put in something stronger before this one wouldn't hold anymore.

Do you know how to inspect a clutch? If you could get your hands on some pictures it would be great, I mean he is your friend and I'm sure he's not trying to shaft you, so if its a 2600 and less than 500 miles, and its in great condition get it, even if its a 2100 it doesnt matter, since youre not going to go put race the car.

I believe its a great deal if all that checks out.
but I've always had bad experiences with second hand clutches

With less than 500mi he should have still been breaking it in so it should look like new, If it doesn't than it has more miles or wasn't being broken in like it should.
