Ok so here we go.

I just instaled and act 2900 pp act street light flywheel and an act 6puck unsprung disc in my car. with a new TOB.
I am not able to get into first or reverse it grinds like hell. I am able to get into 2,3,4, and I think 5th.

I have shimed the fulcrom ball with 2 washers and am using an extended slave rod. bleed the clutch like crazy, even tryd the stock slave rod, done all the adjustments with the rod inside the car for the master. installed a new slave and for the life of me It will not go into first or reverse. It just wants to grind. I am at a lost.

I had no issue prior to this with the stock clutch setup. I was wondering if I should just buy a new fork and fulcrom ball. Or I'm I missing something here that I have overlooked to get me into first and reverse.

Thank you for any advice.

start with the master in the car almost all the way out of the threads, slowly bring it in untill it works ...Had the same problem :hellyeah:

I tryd that. I even did it where i could just move the slave rod by hand. I will try again. This dang ACT is kicking my arse.. been tryn to figure out for 3 days now haha.

Remove that extended slave rod, it does nothing but preloads the pressure plate.

I have tried it with the stock slave rod aswell. I don't think there was a change at all. I will try it again and re adjust everything and see how it pans out.

Is the step height within spec?

Actually it is a used PP that I got from a friend. He had no issues in his car and I'm pretty sure he had it resurfaced aswell and used it with no issue's.

As stated, use the stock rod. Adjust per the Jack's transmission video on clutch adjustment.

Step height has nothing to do with the PP ; it's cut into the flywheel itself. If it's not within spec, you'll never get engagement right.

Yeah sorry, I have no idea why I said PP. I ment to say flywheel. Sorry about that, Thats why I said he had it resurfaced. I was thinking flywheel yet typed PP. he had this setup in his car and had no engagment issue's at all. And I thought it was strange to have every other gear but 1st and reverse.

There are plenty of factors that could cause this issue. Step height on the flywheel could be the issue, the clutch disc could be a little to thick. I had a disc that about ab 0.010 to thick and wouldnt release no matter what I did. I would start with a new master and slave. Also a SS clutch line might help you out. The 2900 is putting a lot more pressure in that rubber line and it could be expanding

If everything but the fork and ball are new, I'm not sure why you'd run 2 washers? With a new clutch and flywheel the only wear factor is your fork and ball. I've had luck with just a single washer, stock rod. Screw the master rod towards the driver seat and bleed the system, basically like the video and go from there.

I have an ACT 290 on stock flywheel, ran about 4k on it. I swapped shells, never unbolted clutch and now after putting it in the new shell, it slips like crazy. It was fine before??? it shifts fine so note that disengagement is superb. Thinking of putting stock clutch back in to see what happens. Any insight is appreciated...

Everything is new minus the fork and ball. And the pp and flywheel. I do have a ss line from the mamaster to the slave. Also followed the video to a T. And still no first or reverse
.
Maybe ill just put the stock pp and flywheel back on and use just the act 6puck disc ?

I have done all the adj in the vido with no luck. Still cant get first or reverse. There was 2 washers on there already i never put them in.

Step height on our flywheel for an act clutch is about .612.
Stock is different, it's a couple hundredths different. Just because your buddy had the flywheel resurfaced doesn't mean that it's correct.
I bet that's your issue.

Would the step height cuase it to go in every gear but 1st and reverse ?

Ok, So I installed a new shift fork and fulcrom ball, rebleed the system and now I have a dead stop at the top of the clutch pedal =( I am going to replace the clutch master even though it is not visibly leaking. They can have an internal seal leak which might be my new issue hopefully. It is the only thing I can think of at the moment that could be cuasing my dead spot in my clutch.
