ABS or no?

Hey guys, I have a 92 Laser AWD 6 bolt, and I was looking around at upgrading the rotors. I was wondering how I determine if my car has ABS or not?

Get going really fast and them slam on your brakes, if you feel your brake peddle pump itself, then you have ABS. Seriously though, I believe if you have ABS on the 2g's the brain for it is located under the center console storage unit, behind the E-Brake. I could be wrong though and I have no idea were it is on the 1g. Although you could do what I suggested to find out if you really have it, as long as you are alone and no other cars on the road.

Seriously to find out just get on some dirt and brake hard, and if it makes a crunching noise that you can feel on the peddle, than you have ABS. If not they should just lock up and you will slide

Or if for some odd reason you're unable to find a patch of gravel or suitable dirt, you can simply pop your hood and look for the ABS module. It will have brakelines going to and from it, and it's near the battery. It will be right by the upper intercooler pipe.

thanks guys, gravel test suggests no ABS (actually, there is no ABS module, but the gravel test sounds like more fun)

Just check your fuse box... If there are no fuses where ABS is then you don't have it.

Yeah I really didn't think you had any...I have a 91' GSX and it doesn't have ABS

Another easy way to check is when you start your car look for an ABS light to show for a few seconds.
