Hello,
My Abs Light will be on, and sometimes it will be off. When the light is NOT ON, and i hit the brakes while in motion, there is a whine noise, and the brakes kinda of Push back at me, and have a rough feeling to them. WHen the abs Light comes on, There is Normal Operation.

The Noise.

from the Front Passenger side of the car, During acceleration, or decelleration, No matter how passive or aggressive, there is a Muffled rattle, Hold a steady throttle NO SOUND
Nuetral, NO SOUND,,, push in the clutch NO SOUND

only at accelleration, decelleration... Odd? I just had balljoints replaced under recall, Noise was there Before, so they didnt dick it up.

THanks,

adam

Here's some things I would check.

- Wheel Hubs could be screwing with wheel camber

- Calipers/pads see if they're stuck

- Bleed the brake lines make sure the hydraulics are working properly

- Check the Rotors for warpage

That actually sounds like a wheel bearing. They tend to NOT make noise on constant throttle, thats actually a good way to single the problem down. ABS is usually a notchy stop and a notchy sound like metal on metal.
I would direct your thoughts on the HUB/bearing area. Your answers lie there.
good luck bro. :thumb:

Good Call, bro. I'd recommend the same. Jack up the car. Grab the wheel top and bottom. Try to wiggle it (checking for play). Should move more than a millimeter or so (and that's not the bearing moving a milimeter, it's everything inbetween). Best of luck, let us know!

As for the ABS, you should pull the code. the whine sounds like the ABS bleeding instead of releasing the brake pressure. Might just be low on fluid, I don't remember if they have a seperate resevoir. Pulling the code should tell you exactly what's going on, or get you damn close!

I had the balljoints Replaced at the dealer under recall and they inspected the Whole front end, to be sure it was balljoint issues i was having. THey said the bearings were tight.

perhaps an axle ready to go

Not sure on the noise, but I had a similar problem with my ABS. The sensor plate was just slight cockeyed which threw the sensor off and made it fight back. My braking power was very weak at those points.
