Hello Looking to relocate my at swtich and was wondering if i can just use a little on/off switch??? confused on the wiring since there are 3 wires red/black/yellow can anyone point me in the right direction thanks,,,

I would think you would be fine using a switch, as long as you wire it the same. Just keep it to the same power supply, and I am sure you will be fine. I would check to see what the button runs on stock. If you do not have the proper switch to support the power, you will be blowing switches all the time. I guess you could splice in an inline fuse to help protect against that though.

Take care,

David

I've seen stuff on this board and POSSIBLY vfaq about relocating it. but i would just get out the multimeter and see what wires do what when the switch is in...and out. that way you'll know which is constant, which is on, which is off

Yes it can be done, you need a Single position dual throw switch. has to have 3 leads. 1 hot coming in, 1 out to tranny, the other for the dash light. I have done it with mine, was rather simple. I have an Ichibahn blue aluminum/carbon fiber auto shift handle, so I had to relocate the OD button, got the switch from Radio Shack. I drilled the hole to the upper left of the cig. lighter socket. I can take a pic if you'd like.

actually i'd like to see the pics i am going to be putting in a rachet shifter and need some ideas for the O/D switch

Thanks,
Mike
