Since I've never encountered a problem like this one I wasn't sure where to put it in the forums so I apologize if there was a better choice of forums to put it in.
Okay here's the problem. a few years ago we pulled the motor out of my GST. I had spun a rod bearing but the head looked excellent. About a year ago I pulled the head out of the garage and there was a small spot in one of the combustion chambers that almost looked corroded with white powder on it. I cleaned it off and gave it to a friend of mine to store. Well yesterday I picked the head up from my friend and looked at the bad spot. It got bigger and the white powder is back. What could have caused this? Is it possible to fill the area in by welding it and reshape it with a burr bit or something? I don't have the head here but I'll try to have a pic posted by the end of the day.
