A simple question...

What is that pulley called that's connected to the alternator and AC?

Crank pulley? something like that..?

Any help or advice will be most aprreciated

You mean that pulley on the bottom of your block that runs every belt in your dsm except your waterpump ? Yup that the crank pulley.

Not really, loosen all belts, remove fender inner cover, remove 4 pulley bolts and pull the pulley off.

Its also known as the harmonic balancer. And no, its not that hard to replace

You may also need to remove the motor mount so that the engine will sit low enough to get it off.
