Can anybody tell me what the screw to which the vacum hose from the intake manifold attached is for? I found this screw almost all the way unscrewed so I screwed it back in as much as possible. But what's this thing for anyways? I know that the screw on top of the bov is for the soft/hard setting. But what's this other screw for?

Mainly it adjusts the sound of the blow-off valve. You can adjust it to hold more boost or for compressor surge in some cases. Just screw it in/out according to what you like.

What other screw are you talking about. Where is it located at? It's hard for me to understand what you were saying in your first post.

or nipple, whatever the hell you call it

That nipple doesn't do anything as far as adjustment is concerned. It just hooks to your intake manifold via a vacuum line. The screw on the top adjusts the performance of the BOV depending on how much boost you're running in order to control compressor surge. I've had both BOV's and the type s had a kinnd of chirp when it first released. But The type rs sounds a little louder overall. IMO

Ya that just to attach the vacuum line to. Its just threaded probably because of the manufacturing process (and you could probably screw in a different sized fitting if you were running different sized vacuum lines). Just screw it in tight but remember to put some thread sealer on it or you will have a vacuum leak.

When you kept saing screw you confused me. But glad you got it figured out.

I have this BOV as well, your "T" fitting goes there, and I myself didnt know you could the nipple as well, just tighten it back as much as possible, that could lead to major boost leak problems... trust me, I know... as for your adjustment screw, when you get it just out of the factory, it will be so soft it will leak a lot of boost pressure, so adjust it accordingly... and it does sound like the Type S, I had that one before I got this one.... hope this helps,
