I just bought a new powdercoated blue candy valve cover and i saw something that i wondered would be a problem. I noticed on my valve cover i have 2 outlets. one for the breather and the other for ???. the one i just bought only has the breather on the left side and no top outlet that mine has.... is this new one going to work or did I just buy junk...

CAREFUL!

When you tighten anything that is valve cover related, use good judgement. I have seen people tighten PCV valves too tightly and crack the valve cover. Of course the easiest way to crack it would be when you tighten it back on the engine. Make each bolt finger tight and then do a 1/4 to 1/2 turn. If you find it leaks, then just tighten it a LITTLE bit more.

You may already know this but i figure better safe than sorry.

The bolt pattern won't really matter, because you aren't putting any kind of torque load on it.

Be aware when tapping the PCV valve's threads that they are usually at a stupid, nonsensical angle up from the head. They are not parallel.
