dsmlink on a 97 gst. simple question.

I'm interested in buying a ecmlink for my 97 gst. I know my ecu is not an EPROM and I know I can have it converted. Heres the question. If I have it converted do they socket it as well or is that something I have to also have done? Reason for asking is I can afford to have it converted right now but have to save a lil more for the ecmlink. I know it's kind of a dumb question but it's been racking my brain for days.

No you can't get it E-promed, If you have a black ECU you can use EVOscan. Its somewhat cheaper than ECMlink but you have to have some idea how to tune. Good luck!! Oh look up ceddymods on the forum it will tell you what u need to run EVOscan, Also, you can only use the 95 Eprom ECU. Good luck either way man=) hope this helps

You have no idea what you are talking about. He said he has a 97 which is a regular non eprom ecu. To the op once you have it converted it will already be with the socket in place. But to be a 100% i would contact tom at ecmlink to make sure. It would probably be easier just to do it all at once.

Go for V3 lite, its affordable and more than enough control for the majority of DSM projects.

I would get it for the customer support and the trove of information that is the Link forums.
