A little clarification

So, I have everything I need basically to get started on tuning. I've gone the 1999 ecuflash route, and looked at a bunch of threads about the topic. However a few different things aren't clear to me in my searching. I have a 1997 GSX.

-Will I need to flash the ROM to my '97 specific GSX? Where would I find this ROM/definition files if necessary? I've seen some on the ceddymods site, but didn't know what I needed.

-I've read that FWD or AWD doesn't matter at all when dealing with just the ECU and not the TCU. The ECU I have is FWD, my car is AWD, so this won't matter, correct?

I feel like both of these things are probably self-explanatory once you hook up the 2.0 cable and get going, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't bungling it for this first time dsmtuner.

You flash the modded file that's on ceddy's site. Its the same file no matter what year or drivetrain.

If your 97 doesn't have the reflash connector, you'll need to wire it in before you can flash the ecu. It's the beige plug by the obd2 connector

If not I have the reflash connector and pin for the ecu for sale. It's all plug and play. Pm me if interested.

Okay so I have the 99 GST ecu, and i downloaded the rom for 99 GSX ecu, because there was none for the GST. Like you said though, it won't matter. I don't have a reflash connector though. Can I log without the reflash connector in the meantime using evoscan? Kinda excited to start poking around my ecu.

WHat is the Ceddy site, I looked at the links in some of the older threads and it's leading me to open domains that have nothing on them..I want to get into the flashing and get an ECU to start playing with on a test bed but i just can't find the ceddymod site, i thought it was just down in general until seeing you post this just yesterday refferencing going on the site..

a link or some help would be great please???

No you'll need to download the 20550011 file. And unless you want to go back to stock that's the only file you'll ever need to use.
