Socket question/clarification

Okay I want to clear something up becuase the next step to my build would be to buy an ECU. I already got the part numbers for ECUs that will work in my 2g, but what I was wondering is if I went out and bought an ALREADY socketed Eprom ECU that was already Socketed with DSM link, if I was able to get ahold of the software and cable would I be able to change the tune for my setup?

Another question the DSM Link software itself is there like a key code like on product so you can only use it ONCE one ONE computer?

Sorry if thease questions are already answered or if they are stupid questions in general im new the this whole ECU tuneing thing and I couldnt find anything that would answer my specific questions.

Simply as there hasn't been an answer on this in the past few days.

1 : If the ECU has been socketed and either is equipped with the ECMLink chip or you have it, then yes. If you have the Cable and Software you'll be able to integrate with the ECU. If you are lacking the ECMtuning chip that replaces the stock eprom then to best of my knowledge - No.

2 : There is no Single PC installation KeyCode. The Software is free. You can download it directly from their website, install it, and use it to read logs, get acquainted with it, etc.

3 : A little bit of research goes a long way.
