Alright, so here is the deal. Got a new turbo setup and I am pretty excited about it. But I have a few questions. My main question deals with a wastegate issue I am having.....
My buddy gave me a turbonetics deltagate II for free...since he had it just sitting around, and let's be honest, budget build here would rather try to use this than buy another wastegate for $400. So...this is what the deltagate looks like.

but THIS is what my wastegate port looks like coming off the manifold...

soooo....is there like, an adapter or something I can buy to make the square a diamond? And then I assume I would need to buy a gasket for both sides of the adapter??

And my second ?

Are all manifold to turbo gaskets essentially the same size? Can I just get a universal one?

Third ?
I need to know if this will work with my setup? I assume it will. Do all T3/T4 outlets match up?

And then a stock exhaust manifold gasket should work with any manifold correct? Since they all have to mate up to the same spot on the engine?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me with these questions. Greatly appreciated. And sorry about the noobness. I'd just rather do everything right the first time.

One more quick question. I keep seeing "flanges"......do these replace gaskets? Or are they used in conjuction with gaskets?

1. You will need to get the flange cut off and get a new one welded on.
2. You need to know what size gasket you need. What size is the flange? T3, T4, T6 etc.
3. It *should* fit. You may need to have the DP flange re welded to be at the proper angle for your DP however.
4. Assuming the manifold is for a DSM then yes.
5. Flanges are the joining ends that sandwich a gasket. V-Band clamps do away with gaskets but that's a whole different kind of setup.

I'm not positive about whether the turbo is T3 or T4. I have been doing searching and all I can tell is that a T4 is bigger than a T3, and a hybrid T3/T4 is the bees knees I guess, but how can I tell which mine is?
I've included a few more pics in case they could help... I know there are a few guys on here who can tell the type of turbo just by the fins so, who knows, figured I'd give it a shot...

And I think it is a T3...confirmation would make life easier so I can start buying gaskets.....

Alright, another question (and please don't answer telling me to upgrade injectors, tuning equip, fpr, fuel pump, I know all this and am in the process but need a quick fix for now)

I am burning oil pretty bad right now with my stock setup due to a bad oil seal... If I keep the car out of boost 99.9% of the time and then only hit like, 3-4 lbs the .1% when I need a little juice to get up a big hill in 5th, can I throw this setup on the car with all stock fuel system?
I know it will need to be tuned eventually, but I am not looking for a performance gain right now, I am just looking to not go through a quart of oil every weekend. I only drive the car on the weekends and it is 5 hours away where I work (I fly there, drive about 150 miles over the course of the weekend, fly home).
So, all I need to know is....
Assuming fuel cut kicks in if knock starts, and I stay out of boost as much as possible, can I throw this turbo on the car without making anything go kaboom 300 miles from my garage?

Sure you can. Would I reccomend it without fuel, NO. However being temporary I would suggest you run an open wastegate to keep the turbo from pushing in too much air.

I'm honestly not sure of what cfm the turbo is so that's why I'm stating open gate. You could very well be able to run 10psi and be fine but without a logger or flow rates it's an unknown factor.

Yeah, thats about what I figured. I'm just tired of smelling oil every single time I shift. I mostly feel bad for the GF when she rides with me though, I'm used to it so it's just an annoyance, but she tends to avoid my car like the plague. :p
