Like the title says when you turn the headlights on the a/c comes on! Before painstakingly tracing the wires all through the car would anyone have an idea as to what would cause this? Thinking maybe there is a a relay or something that's bad sod is hooked up wrong, just got done with where the previous owner cut all the wires off behind the radio in outing the illumination wire so gauge lights never worked till now! Thanks for any help!

Or maybe a wiring diagram of the A/C?

Ok so I traced the wire back to the fuse box and discovered the previous owner put a 25 amp fuse in the 10 amp for the TAIL LIGHTS. I removed the back of the fuse box and seen where the wire to this fuse had melted and was stuck to a couple other wires.. One of these wires was A/C but after I unattached them and taped them up it still comes on when I turn the headlights (tail lights) on. If I pull the fuse the A/C does not come on. SO, it has something to do with the tail lights and whatever happened to melt the wire. Any suggestions where to go from here or just have to keep chasing the wires?

Just figure out which one is the ac wire and start there. It obviously has something to do with that.. sounds like somewhere down stream it fused together and made one current instead of two different ones

Just noticed one more wire where the preveous owner cut the factory radio harness that i have not identified or hooked back up and im thinking it is the tail light relay=pin 4. Here is a link to where i seen this:

Now the question is where should this wire hook up? This could fix the problem of the A/C not coming on with the switch right?

Ok. So decided to trace the wire that was cut at the radio harness and figure out where it goes. Come to find out it was the illumination for the radio that was cut WAY up into the harness. So since it looked a little melted I had a feeling that it may have more bad spots through it. Soooo I got a little more into it and found another place up in the wiring behind the dash where it was melted to other wires in a couple spots.:ohdamn:

I am replacing the wires and will go back to tracking down the a/c wires and hopefully find that. Having fun yet?
