99 GST Radio install

OK I know it's my first post but I DID SEARCH.

Secondly this is my gf car and basically I have found out that the 99 seems to be the black sheep of all the 2Gs. They are almost completely different and there is NO information about them making the most simple tasks a nightmare.

I have installed many head units before but none have left me as burnt out as this one.

I am here to ask the experts.

The car has an Infinity Premium Sound system. Meaning it has an amplifier under neath the front seat. Because of this it needs a special wiring harness that I have never come across before.

It's actually 2 harnesses. the first one is average has power ground and illumination on it. the speakers on the other hand are on a different harness. instead of different muti-colored wires there are 4 RCA out puts. it seems simple enough, however the new radio she purchased only has 1 set of RCA inputs.

Can some one please explain to me how to wire this thing correctly because as of right now I have power and the radio works fine but I have no sounds (the most important part if you ask me)

I bypassed the infinity amp in favor of an aftermarket amp and new speakers. Ended up running all new speaker wire (larger gauge).

Thats the harness that I have now that I am having trouble with. Where to the RCA plugs go??

The new radio only has one set of RCA inputs.

Do I need to get a radio with more inputs?

What does your manual say that the inputs are for? Just because it may look nice doesn't mean it will function for you and goes the same for buying at an affordable price too.

Usually single output RCA head units are for a sub woofer amplifier. I'm pretty positive there is a bypass that is used for the stock amplifier if you don't want to use it. Just keep searching around.

Don't forget to try searching using a "titles only" search instead of "all posts".

I want to keep the stock amp. I just want to know how to use this to get sound out of the speakers. Or am I using the wrong harness all together?
