some 99s have the charcoal canister back by the gas tank.

i actually thought the later 98 and 99 eclipses had them in the drivers side front bumper near the cooler?

nope eclipses prior to 98 had them in the engine bay, 99 for sure has it at the gas tank. i have pictures. i'm trying to delete the system myself as we speak and have been looking for more info on what needs to be capped, vented, and removed. any help would be appreciated

Come on people, this is not that hard, 98-99 GSX have it up front behind the bumper, while the gsts have it where the gas tank is.
So much misinfo... So wrong

 huh? My haynes manual says different. I have a 99 and mine is right below the driver side head light.

I never knew that but I have a gsx anyways :thumb:

There is a lot of misinfo and I thought it was deleted in my car until I pulled the tank. I wish I could just find a 98 tank and filler neck.

I know it's in the tank, I pulled the tank already. Can I just cap the 3 ports off or do I need a blockoff plate?? Also where does the fuel cutoff go???

Above 1. That's what tells the nozzle to stop pumping because the tank is full. Atleast as far as I can tell that's what it does.

supporting vendor jnztuning.com is a mitsubishi oem parts dealer has both parts at good price.

New fill neck is under 200. Had one for my 1998 rs sold it for 50 bucks local, because my problem was pinched hose next to tank.

You could have a pinched hose instead. Crawl under rear of the car follow hose from fill neck to tank.

If you have fuel spilling out while filling up its pinched hose, my mine did it until hose replacement. Its a high pressure hose only 2 to 5 bucks from napa. Advance auto and Autozone dont sell them I tried it.

For what it's worth, filler necks are only available for the GS-T. GSX filler necks are no longer being made and there no more in the dealer parts inventory. They are different at far as the vent pipes coming off from it.
