I have a 98 Eclipse Spyder GS. 4g64 motor. It does not start at the moment and I have a single code for P0340 Camshaft Position Sensor. I did replace the sensor and no difference. It has spark and good compression across the board. Its getting fuel to the rail but the injectors are not firing. It is also getting power to the Cam Sensor when key is on...

Im not sure what my next step is to try and figure this out...what else should I test? PLEASE HELP...

Thanks guys,
Evan

I also checked all the fuses and all are good...

Anybody?

My first guess is that you installed the cam angle sensor wrong. Dont quote me, I havent touched mine on my dsm, but i know some times cam angle sensors are adjustable.

have you checked for spark? are you sure the injectors are not firing? id ground a plug on the valve cover or something like that and hook it up to a plug wire to check for spark.... start from there and if you have spark then you either have no fuel, or timing is off.

I definitely have spark. My injectors are definitely not firing though....so Im thinking the Cam Sensor is still not reading...I have power going to the sensor and is within spec according to MotorAllData.

I popped the fuel rail up with the injectors attached and tried to crank it and got nothing from injectors. I did take the feed line off the rail too and made sure it had fuel going to the rail and I do. My timing is on too...Im thinking it has to be an electrical issue or maybe something with the tone ring on the camshaft in which is the cam sensor reads? Are there any problems that could happen with that?

and there is really only one way the cam sensor can go in...
