98 gsx, Some advise please.

I just got a 98 gsx auto, really clean body and interior.
Engine has been messed with and modified a little.
138kmiles

Mods include..
Full intake and intercooler kit
16g turbo, full exhaust
Dump pipe
hks bov
Radiator
150 shot of nitrous
Said a 272 cam.. idk if that's true of not
Vis vented carbon fiber hood
Full exhaust

I was getting on it yesterday a little and it was doing great.
Today I was just doing some normal driving (didn't get on it once) and I noticed the temp was going up and I saw steam coming from the overflow. Not sure what could be causing that to happen today and not yesterday... bad head gasket, bad thermostat? Oh and I did just notice that the electric fan on the drivers side isn't turning on..

Some of the other things it needs...

The last owner didn't have a air filter on it... (I know right, what the ####)
Some of the couplers are looking like there going bad for the intercooler
Driver side strut tower is pretty rusted, passenger side is just starting to
Both door handles are broken
I noticed some oil in the bottom of the intake
Turbo has some in out shaft play, 0 side to side shaft play
There's no rear 02 sensor
Oil sender not hooked up
Underside of hatch and inside the wheel wells of the rear wheels are rusting

Any advise on what I should do, where I should get parts, things to check for, things to do would be really appreciated. Thank you..

The electric fan on the drivers side is the a/c fan. The engine cooling fan is on the passenger side that's the only one that should come on when the temp gets warm. If the temp is climbing above normal and the level of the overflow rises or overflows def a head gasket. Other wise if it is simply overheating then standard stuff, could be thermostat, radiator, water pump, low on coolant, ect.

After it boiled over I refilled a gallon of water. I'm going to do a coolant flush and change the thermostat here soon. I'm also now driving with the a.c button pushed in its been fine since.

A lot of people forget to check the radiator cap seal for wear also, if it does have some just replace it. It's overlooked a lot and can cause overheating.

I just added more water and left the a.c button on and its been sitting under half. hmmph haha idk but its good now.

If its got rust is pretty much done as on all dsm's unless you have extensive body/paint restoration experience. Or I guess if you know of a good body shop that can do the work cheap then yea keep it and restore it. Sucks to see more and more dsm's getting parted out or crushed every day
