went an picked up my 98 gst today and that thing was a pain in the a$$ putting on a trailer! but im happy and now looking forward to driving it once i figure out my problem with how come its not getting spark to 2 cylinders...

nice car. also on the not getting spark. which 2 isn't firing. if its two then maybe its one of the coil packs.

i believe its two and three not firing i havent checked yet just got it home tonight and havent messed with it. but the guy said he changed the coil pack an crank sensor can sensor timing belt ptu ect... still running on two cylinders with no spark to the other two... an thanks

Power Transistor Unit is good? I would say double check his work before anything. Look at the plugs and double check for where you're getting spark and where you aren't.

You better find out for sure and hope you don't find a blown head gasket instead.
Last time I "took the sellers word for it" I got a dsm that he said just needed a timing belt when actually he ran it out of oil. Who doesn't check thier oil when it leaks all over your driveway?

I also vote power transistor.If you know anyone else with a 2g steal theirs and try it.

Mhm. Good info here. Test out the PTU, the Coil Packs, and the ECU just for good measure. You can't go wrong checking for more than what you suspect.

well guys i still havent found out whats wrong with my car. ive got a new power transistor an new coil packs also changed spark plugs to ngk's onlything i can think of would be the ecu?? also cam sensor is good an crank sensor... any help would be appreciated.. the car will crank up an run but i believe its only firing on 3 cylinders...

have you actually checked if u don't have spark ? remove one of the spark plugs and reconnect it to the spark plug wire, grabb a pair of rubber insulated pliers and grab the spark plug and ground the electrode to the engine while someone cranks the engine and see if there is spark, you can do this for each plug. If you are getting spark then you have a fuel problem or compression problem,possible faulty injector(s) if its a fuel issue and if its a compression problem it be anywhere from a blown headgasket to bent valves.

car looks like its got potential homie but hopefully you don't have a thrown rod or somethin weak like that....my first recommendation before anything would be a compression test, but you probably already have been told this...
