98 gst automatic tranny problems

Hey guys!! Ive been having problems with my 98 eclipse gst automatic. For some reason the car won't shift into reverse. If i put the car in Drive it'll move until I hit around 20 mph then it feels like its in neutral? I dunno what it could be i checked the transmission fluid and it seems fine. Ive never had a problem with the tranny slipping or anything. Any information is appreciated thanks guys!

Is the car accelerating slowly? Does it idle surge? TCU could be locked in LIMP mode. Is it throwing a Check Engine Light?

If you are having issues above 20mph, are you driving around below that long enough to get the tranny fluid at operating temp and then in neutral to actually check?

Reason I ask because if not you may still be low without even knowing it.

im thinking its the tcu. as soon as it started shifting like this the check engine light did come on ive gotta get that checked out. will it throw a code if its in limp mode?

yes sir i actually drove the car to my parents which is about 5 miles away and i checked it the fluid was good
