Hey guys, what would a 98 GST spyder run in teh 1/4 mile that was running 11 psi? 14psi? thanks
oh and how much psi do they run stock?>
also assume the car would have intake/exhaust

How do you guys think a 97 honda prelude (H22, 200hp) with CAI and a 50 shot of nitrous would do against a GST spyder with exhaust and cai running 14psi?
THanks

its hard to answer these kind of questions cuz even though you have 2 identical cars..one can be faster just cuz..just like aasking howmuch will a DP give me in power...it can give one car more or less...just letting you know

ya i know i was just wondering if anyone had any basic idea of what i was asking?
the only reason i ask is cuz my buddy with his 98 spyder gst running 14psi thinks i will have no chance with my 5th gen 5 speed prelude with a 50 shot of nitrous..After taking a ride in his car yesterday, i didnt think he would beat me by much without using my nitrous.
he also claimed that his car only was boosting at 6 psi stock> i thought that seemed kinda low

Well for starters the car comes stock with 11-12psi. So your buddy is either dumb or just messing with you. Also with a 5th gen prelude he would destry you if you didn't spray. My buddy runs a 15.1 on his stock type sh with only a testpipe and i walked him like nothing when he was stock and when i get my exhaust and boost controller it was no competition. You would need nitrous to maybe stand a chance but them again with a 50shot he still has a chance of taking you.

*I don't want to start bashing but don't think your car is fast if you beat an almost stock gst while your spryaing in a prelude. Personally thats why i have no repect for guys who drive honda's b/c most of them rely on bottles to hang with anything that has some speed.

ok well i dont rely on nitrous to have any kind of speed, i just have it cuz its fun. ive only used it once, and i wasnt even racing anyone. anyways, so how fast are spyder gsts stock? i know they weigh quite a bit and only have like 210 hp so i didnt think there 1/4 could be much better than high 14 seconds..am i wrong? i just dont see how he will "destroy" me if i dont spray.
and ya he says hes running 14psi but i doubt it, it didnt seem all to quick and he did tell me it came stock with 6psi so maybe he doesnt know what hes talking about.
im not trying to cause an argument here, i just dont see the logic in saying that his car will destroy mine, considering our cars are almost powered the same( i know he has quite a bit more torque) and his car does weigh a little more than mine.

If your friend runs 15.1 on the h22a engine and a stock dsm runs 14.7-15.4 then theres not going to be much of a difference in the cars. I personally have ridden in a stock SH/H22A equipped car and stock for stock there going to be close actually. I think with the 50shot your going to take him because honestly I demolished a b16-civic with a 150 shot in my talon with just IC pipes/bov/controller and good driving on stock boost.

I think you two would be close personally.
If you both are good drivers.
Cause the t-2-small craps out past 6k rpm's and that's just when your car is really starting to breathe.
:)

I have a 97 Prelude with cai and my friend has a 97 with cai and at 14psi and i got him buy a car. It has a lot to do with the driver of each car. But I know you will get him with what you say you have and what he has.

Wow your friend must be a horrible driver. Preludes are slow cars they are heavy and don't have much torque to back it up with only 195 hp. I've never lost to a prelude and they are all over the place where i live. I race them all the time and never had one even stood a chance. Plus i've driven several of them and were not impressed at all.

This thread is better for the hangout.

That said the cars can both have ups and downs. Without knowing the cars we don't know. Additionally if your friend says he had 6psi stock he is either
a) doesn't know his car
b) is a complete moron
c) has serious wastegate problems
d) has some killer boost leaks
e) is messin with you

any option other than e gives him a serious handicap. Now other than that you may or may not beat him....as they say

Don't bench race just race. after all you are friends and you are gonna race eventually anyway.

Just be safe and take it to the track :D

I got a gst because i love turbo. My prelude though does have a lot of power. Again like I said it has a lot to do with the driver of the car.
