2G 98 Eclipse GST engine swap options?

LS6, V8 all the things!!!!

But seriously, why would you want to swap out the 4G63, is there something wrong with it? You've got a decent setup to start with if it has an E16G and 560 injectors, if you want more from your GST build up the motor and get a bigger turbo then swap to an AWD drivetrain.

I heard that it's possible to do a dodge neon srt swap but it requires a really good mechanic

Take it apart, inspect everything and see what spun. It's not terribly hard to rebuild a 4g63. Just gotta make sure everything is in spec when you rebuild it.

Plus there is no use at all in swapping a 420a into a gst. Be alot easier to just rebuild it and put it back in.

You can put a 2.4L 4g64 block out of a spyder gs with a 4g63 head. You have to block 5 oil drains on the mating surface for the 4g63 head to work. I have this setup in my gsx

U can also take the 2.4 4g64 crank and put it in your 4g63 block with stock rods and stroker pistons to make it a 2.3 stroker

@Daniel Weisner Yeah I've done a 4g64 bottom end a few times and is great for a budget.

You can usually find them pretty cheap 150-200$ from a salvage yard. Just gotta get one from a 94-98 Galant or 95-99 eclipse spyder.

I wouldn't swap another engine in unless it was a 4g64. Can't put a 420a in without a lot of fabrication, and the fact that would be totally pointless. If you're looking for unique, go rwd, but need plenty of $$ and fabrication for that too.

Or you can part it out and buy a 420a and do what guys do with 420a.

The 4G63/64 hybrid sounds interesting. Are there any guides out there for building one on a budget? I don't have huge power goals so the motor doesn't really need to be overbuilt, but it would be nice to get something like an Evo III 16G and have it spool like a 14b or T25.

@orangedsm all you need to do is plug 5 holes in the block.
