98 Eclipse GS vs 97 Talon TSi AWD Turbo

I've got a 98 GS with a couple grand in mods. I've got maybe $7500 total in the car, counting buying it and mods. I found a 97 TSi turbo AWD for $5500. I could get the talon or mod the eclipse more. I like the AWD, but I've already got the eclipse...what do you guys say?

for sure the 97 talon i have a 97 talon awd and you cant beat it best car ever. eclipse gs not worth putting engine work into you will pay three times as much as you would on the talon. also fwd cant get that great of tractin when you make them fast. not dissing you fwd highway beast thoe

Go with the talon trust me i got a gs-t thinking whatever at least its turbo how much can the awd change. A shit tone i got traction problems and i dont even have a new turbo yet. Plus a few of the mods might beable to be put from your gs to the awd. Speaking of traction problems if anyone got liek an lsd insurt liek phantom grip one or whatever and it works great pm me.

Most of the mods are suspension...ractive coil overs and adjustable performance struts, eagle alloy racin' rims and low pro tires. Ractive intake and motec exhaust. I could put all that on the talon if i wanted, but i'd have to keep the eclipse drivable for my mom (She's got my old Acura Legend, and if I got a new car, I told her I'd let her have the Eclipse and make payments to avoid paying insurance...)

Get the Talon. If i found one that cheap i would buy in a heart beat, then sell my N/T.

well that depends,. If you wanna go fast with 1/3 of the money,and have traction at high hp numbers then get the talon>if you wanna spend 3 times as much money and struggle 3 times as much tu put the power to the ground once you do get it,then keep the eclipse, I don't know ,your call man.

Definitely go for the 2g awd. You have a couple grand of mods done to your car? In your profile it says for your speed mods: exhaust + intake. Thats it? Sorry to say, but this unmodded talon would already destroy your "modded" 420a neon engine. Get it before its too late!

$5500 seems like a good price, I would defintly buy that AWD, you can always sell the GS and get good money.

well i switched from my 1998 gs to a 1990 tsi awd........... i thought my eclipse was fast but after stepping into my talon for the first time i was blown away with how fast it was, now every time i ride in my freinds gs i feel like im in a honda........

do you know how many miles are on the Talon? If its stock and from a dealer it shouldn't have no more 60-70k miles on it for that price.

Look before you leap, this AWD vehicle could be a POS and not run right, I myself would rather have a N/T than to have to spend thousands and thousands to get the AWD running correctly. Usually once they are beatin to death they don't ever get out of it. Look at my car, $12,000 later and it breaks down every 6 months or so...shouldn't say breaks down, most of the time it is driveable but still has problem after problem.

Performance wise yes of course its a no brainer, get the Talon. Make sure its in good condition first.
