2G 98 Black Box ECU on a 96 GST

i'm confused. I've been looking all around the forum, but all the answers i read confuse me.. i'm going to put a 98 ecu on my 96 gst so i can do the reflash on my ecu.. i know the 96 has an inverted CAS . all i need is just swap plug wires and injectors wires to make it work?? 1 to 2 and 3 to 4 ? or do i need to do anything else? i'm asking because i've seen a lot of posts of people here saying that even doing that the car doesn't runs right.

i have an EVO8 ecu in my 96, basically the same concept. i i swapped injector pins at the ecu 1 and 14, 2 and 15. this worked for me. i also swapped the pins at the ecu for the plug pins 10 and 23, keeps the engine bay looking stock.
