97 gst not starting

I can't seem to find the problem here guys. Well here's the story. I bought a 97 gst 5 speed with a seized transmission. But before I even bought the car, I turned it on to see if it work or at least start. Yes, it did. Anyway, I did the swap, and put everything back together. Now as I go an try to start the car. All I hear is a loud noise like the starter is trying to engage. You know to the point where you got to bang on the starter to get it going kinda thing. I thought that's what it was.
So I banged the sh*t out of it. But still, its a no go. Took the starter to go get it benched test, and came back being good. They tested it twice. Anyway, If I do a jump start(you know where you roll down a hill and leave it in gear. As you get enough speed you let go of the clutch, and while you are in 1 or 2 gear, it'll jump start it self and start) Well yea, I did that and it started fine?! Any clues what it could be? Oh yea I forgot to mention, when I got the car. The guy told me the Starter or is it MPI relay was no good. So he just jumped the relay straight to the 12 volt source. Btw it worked when I first started the car. I think as of right now the jumping should be fine. And besides its a hard part to find in hawaii. So....any ideas?

Find a way to get a new MPI Relay. Call and see if they can ship the part to you.

The previous owner told me it was 70 bucks shipped to hawaii -_-

would over tightning the flywheel cause this problem?
