Okay, So I have done quiet a bit of research and have not really found anything. I have a 1995 GST and had a ticking sound last week. I figured that it was a lifter and looked at the lifters today and it was one of the lifters. I went ahead and changed all of the lifters and put everything back together. When I went to start it the car would crank and not start. I checked for spark on all the wires and there was spark. Then I checked spark at the spark plug and spark again. I then checked for fuel and there was fuel. So I figured that it was compression. I did not have a compression tester so I just spun the crank and it seemed like there was compression because it was hard to spin. However I will have a compression tester tomorrow and will verify the compression. I will also have a code reader to see if I have an codes being sent because I was also thinking that it might be a sensor..... Reason I was making this thread is because I wanted to know in advance if there was anything else I should check. I saw the NO START THREAD and it says to check Comprssion, Spark and FUEL. I also know to check sensors and the codes at the computer...... I will have the tools tomorrow and will update once I have checked the Compression and Codes. Is there anything else anyone could think of that I might want to check?

How did you install the Lifter?.

Did you put them in oil?.

Did you bleed them?.

Did you take the Cams off?.

If you changed, just the lifter, and it was working good before you changed them.

Then, I would say, You got your valves all messed up.

Do a compression test, that's all what you need to focus on.

I did put them in oil prior and installed them correctly without taking the Cams off. Compression test will be done tomorrow afternoon and will be looking for other things. If compression comes out good why do you think it would be the Valves?(I hope its not though ) Anything else I should look for tomorrow?

If your compression is good.Make sure your plugs aren't getting soaked and are firing and check your fuel pressure. Maybe unplug the battery to reset ecu and just check all sensor connections like cam and crank.

Just an idea, but I would do a valve adjustment. I have never done a valve adjustment on a DSM but several on Diesel engines/ v8's. I would look in a maint. manual and look at the valve adjustment order/ clearance. I highly recommend this ### lifters, rockers, and valves in general when you go in you should always do an valve adjustment. By the way like I said I am not 100% sure with regards to DSMs but on old school engines you do this while the engine is running and new school has torque settings while dead/ feeler gauge. Check the book and let me know what you find. I would check for u but I am in AfghanistanROFL

There is no adjustment on our DSM.

TO THE OP.

You won't find anything untill you do a compression test.
I am 90% that your problem is your valves.

Okay guys, Just did a compression test and found out that Cylinders 1 and 3 were at 30 and 20 psi. I am positive that it is thee valves now. I will be changing out the valves and having the head at the machine shop. Also noticed that my gaskets needed to be changed so I will be doing that as well. Thanks again guys! (ISSUE RESOLVED)
