ok heres the story, i own a 97 GST spyder and just recently my girlfriend recked the driverside of the car. So bad that it will need to be put on a streacher.. the subframe is bent and the body is so badly hit that its touching the pullys under the hood. I have an old 95 GST hard top and the motor is no good. Its a 5 SPD like my spyder and its a GST also so will i be able to swap everything over to the 95 without having to reweld motor mounts or do anykind of mod what so ever. I looked around but dont know if it will work perfectly..? :dsm:

the 95 has the cam position sensor behind the intake cam, and the 97 has it on the passanger side of the head.
You can use the plug thats on the pass. side of the head on your 95 and put it in place of the 97 cam sensor and bolt your 95 sensor on.
Everything else is the same.

well the 95s wire harness is shot to @#$% and idk if the ECU on it is good so can i just swap the ECU and wire harness from the 97?

The ECU will absolutely fit, check the 95 for being eprom, if it isn't throw it out, if it is see if someone can rebuild it. As for the wiring harness, it should fit most things but may need some slight tweaking.

Keep the 95 ECU....The 95's came E-prom, and there should be no reason it would be bad unless it went through somthing catastrophic

Most but not all 95 ECUs were eprom, and it doesn't take something catastrophic to destroy an ecu, electrical surges, exposure to the elements (corrosion), impact, etc can all destroy an ecu not to mention bad solder joints or blown capacitors.

e-prom?? i have no idea what that is and how to tell if i have it.. i must be kind of a nub i guess...

Yes, you can put the 97 ecu and wiring harness in the 95, everything will bolt up, if you do that, you dont need to change the cam sensor either. Just put the motor in the 95 with the wiring harness and ecu, and plug everything in and start her up!
