Hi all, I have a problem with my 97 SGT and I really hope I can get some help. I installed a remote start/turbo timer system on it and now my dome light and gauges don't work. All fuses are fine, just no oil light/gauges or cel. Anyone ever came across this before?

Bad ground somewhere? Did you accidentally hack into the wrong harness or mix-up wires when installing the remote start.
I had one installed on my friends car and it's been nothing but a headache since

Godin hope it just a bad ground. the dash was cracked so I replaced the whole thing and used the new dash harness, it worked fine then, even the dome light, then I did the alarm and now nothing works, gauges are off, cel is off and no dome light either. I did everything by the book, all wires are properly insulated with heat shrink connectors and the car starts n runs, but all the essentials are not functioning.

yeah, I went thru all the fuses, none blown. Still no light

Strangest thing happened tonight, gas n temp gauge works fine, oil psi n boost gauge are still inop, but while I'm boosting, the brake light starts to Light up, n when I drop psi, it goes off. Bad ground maybe?

Ok so I checked the brake fluid, its good to go, but now my fan shredded so more fixing. Also my car is running really rich, hesitates on acceleration and stalls when cold, anything on that?

Engine Coolant Temp sensor (the 2 wire one by thermostat by upper radiator hose - 1 wire one is dash gauge temp) tells Engine Control Unit engine temp so it can adjust mixture properly. If not working the ECU thinks engine is always cold so it always makes mixture rich. This is just one possiblility. Bad Oxygen sensor also affects mixture.

However these are unlikely to be your dome light and gauges problem. That sounds like it is wired incorrectly. Completely disconnect the remote start/turbo timer system and see what happens.

Also measure your battery voltage while running engine to check if alternator is working.

Ah, ECT sensor, right. I'll replace them one at a time n see what happens. Dome light/ gauge issue are on hold at the moment. Got another project on hand, 86 Corolla hatch with blacktop swap. Parts are like diamonds for this thing.
