97 eclipse gst P0505 Problem

I have a 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS-T. I don't have a Check Engine light but i did use a engine code reader and i got P0505 Idle air control system. Once i start the car it idles high then low and just jumps around then it finally dies. Unless i give it gas and continue it for about 30 seconds then it levels out and stays on. I cant figure out the problem or what to do exactly since I'm still learning my car. Thank you.

Here is a very informative video about testing and replacing the actual iac motor, however there can be many things which contribute to a bad idle reading..such as boost leak, bad o2 sensors, bad coolant temp sensors, etc

I checked the idle air control motor and cleaned it all out and put new gaskets and its not leaking at all. Just figuring out which problem is the pain in the arse part.

if you did the water bypass trick it will cause bad idle issues for you as well
