97 auto gsx problem.. need help for the shootout

Im working on my buddies car who is in the army and is gonna be back this weekend and wants to take it to the shootout. He blew the stock tranny so when he was away i installed a new tranny for him.
I have driven the car and it shifts through all the gears fine. Everything work. But when you put it in drive the idle drops way down and stalls out. The car has no power under 2k. It wont even move.. You have to give it gas and click it into gear for it to move. But once the rpms are up and runs fine.

Was it another 97 trans? I know when I switched out my burnt 97 for a 95 I had to use a matching transfer case.

Forgot he had put a built head on it while it was broken.. It was out of time.. No bent valves.. Good to go now.

Check the Biss screw and adjust. It can be very tempermental at times
