I recently bought a 96 gsx with a 6 bolt motor that was previously modified, and was wondering whats everyones thoughts on emission removal.
I dont have any vaccum lines running from the egr or the charcoal canister.
Are they worth reinstalling or should i just leave them delete? And either case whats the correct way of doing it?

Correct way of course is leaving it in and being all legal. Our way is to remove it all and cap off the vac lines not needed. With turbo cars it's nice to have as little as possible for vac lines. Less chance of blowing one off and getting a boost leak!! ;)

Thank you for the response.
Im not to worried about legal cause im going to register it as a classic, so no smog check

What about the charcoal canister and egr. I believe the egr is looped to itself and the charcoal canister has a bunch of lines missing. Can i leave the egr like it is or should i get a blockoff plate? And can i removed the charcoal canister without any problems? I want to clean the engine bay up as much as i can

You should make sure the egr lines that were going to the throttle body and intake manifold are capped off. If I recall correctly, there is a gas tank vent line that is under the charcoal canister as well, it shouldn't be plugged, but you should install a plastic one way valve so the fuel tank vents properly. You could even trace the line back to the tank itself and install it there, it's pretty much personal preference. As far as the egr valve I would just keep it on if you are looking to save a little money, I run a blockoff plate because it makes it look tidier especially if you are removing everything. There are a few write-ups on a full delete of the entire system.
