OK, so it has been RUMORED that crank walk will kill every 95 or 96 with a 7 bolt motor, I have been reading up on this crank walk rumor latly and have seen alot of polls saying the 95 with a 94 pruduction date is the least likely out of all the 2gs to get crank walk. Is this true?

I resently bought a 95 with a 94 production date and was wondering what the diffrences are from the 95s. I noticed the intake manifold looks diffrent and I know about the eprom ECU but other then that I have no clue.

I've heard it's because they might have used some leftover 1G 7 bolt blocks in them. If that is the case, you got lower compression, but a bunch of other goodies!

Early 95's (like You and I) have rear vented disc brakes, the EEPROM ECU, and unfortunately have no better chance of not getting crankwalk. If you're past 100k miles don't even worry about the crank walking, because it's not happening.

Crankwalk is overrated. If you only look online for information then you'll get the bad info. Think about it. Would you be more likely to come on here and post" Hey look at me guys, 100k and no crankwalk!!" or "!^%&%#@% I just got crankwalk." You read so much about it because everyone who experiences it comes here to bi***. My car has 136k on it and the bottom end is healthy as can be. Yes my car did walk before I bought it. It's a luck game, no numbers and no facts to go on. Mine is an early 95 and it walked originally, guess what hasn't walked? That's right a 7 bolt, which is what is in my car now, and if it ever goes, another 7 bolt will find it's way in.

ok I agree with everything you said but that last part is just plain foolish

Calander year and model year NEVER coincide. OEM's will build vehicles as far out as 8 months prior to the year. (ie They were building 2005 Dodge Rams in June/July. <<<<< 2004 build date!!!)

Your car is no different. A portion of the model year will have 94 build dates and the remainder will have 95 build date. Yet, they are still considered 95 model year cars.

Explain to me why it's foolish? I want to hear your cold hard facts at why it would be a bad idea to drop in another 7 bolt if mine ever goes. You can't provide any, if you're going to come back at me with "well the 6 bolt is better cause everyone else says so" then save it. I told you my way of thinking and you don't have to agree with it but don't call it stupid cause some people had problems with 7 bolts.

It's all in people's discretion of what they believe. I am sure a good amount of 6 Bolts have walked but probably so have a lot of Grand Prix's that got the shit drove out of them like our cars do. Face it, if you have a good looking fast car like all 1g and 2g DSM's then you are going to beat the shit out of it to show off. If people crankwalk and get the 6 bolt, they can go ahead and do so, but never critiscize anyone for putting a 7 bolt back in the car or even maybe rebuilding. The chance of it happening twice...slim to none even though I am sure it has happened. Let people do what they want to you are paying for the damn car or the repairs. If you think it is a mistake, gut it unless what you are going to say is worth hearing.
