My 95' Talon TSi just wont idle right. I have done everything you could possibly think of and the car still idles up. It starts up fine but once it is nice and warm it slowly idles up to about 2500 rpms. New IAC, TPS, ECT, Clean MAF, Clean throttle body, No vacuum leaks, New plugs and wires. I am out of ideas. Kills my mpg and who knows what kind of damage 2500 rpms constantly does to the motor. Also it seems to run rich, it dumps quite a bit of black smoke i am told. Some one please help me!

Have you checked your BISS?(base idle set screw) is on top of your throttle body, should have a black rubber cap covering it. Sometimes that plastic screw with a rubber O-ring gets worn. And your idle will fluctuate. I had to replace mine, for it wasnt controlling the idle on my car. I hope this helps you out.

id change your o2 sensor. and get a actuall mitsubishi oxygen sensor. those universal onse the parts house will try to sell you suck. its the kind where you have to cut off the pigtail off of the one you have now and crimp it on to the new one. dont buy that. get one thats ready to plug in and go. (im talkin about the plastic 4 wire plug-in that connects to the engine wire harness). i bet ya 5 bucks your o2sensor is begining to go bad.

The o2 sensors that are in it have like 300 miles on it but they arent mitsu ones they are like bosch. My BISS does leak but i have it capped off and no pressure escapes now, weather that solves the problem i dont know. I will do both of these next time i get money right now just found out my carrier bearings are done for and its a nice $130 bill from mitsubishi :/ Keep the ideas coming though i seem to go through them rapidly LOL. Thanks guys.

every so often it will throw a code for an o2 sensor. Since the sensors i had on there were new i didnt think anything about it but just unhook the battery :/ Not the best solution. Just went to Mitsubishi and ordered in the OEM o2 sensor, a nice $156.00 for a dang sensor :/ hope it helps, but now that it was mentioned all signs really point to it.
