Car: 1995 GS 420A all mods unhooked completely

Problem: will crank but no start.
I have fuel pressure
OBD 1 codes 12 and 55 but they are not listed in Manuals. And CEL goes out after flashes OBD2 shows no codes.
Timing marks are dead on
Crank sensor new 9 volts on pin 1 4v on pin 2 and good ground on 3
Fuel pump kicks on when the key is switched on.
Tried a new ASD relay
Switched two new ECUs
No power to coil pack still no start when power is supplied (jump wire from bat)
I have two really good multi meters but both took a crap on me ( show voltage when not hooked to anything) so I'm reduced to a radio shack special volt meter. When I try to measure the voltage on the signal wire of the crank sensor I get a solid voltage reading think its averaging the out put.

What I think is happening something is up with crank sensor circuit ecu doesn't see crank turning so its not turning fuel and spark on.

What are your questions?

New battery
Honestly haven't checked compression
And no spark

The ASD relay isn't staying on. But I do not know why. Everything I've read says crank cam sensor circuits but I cannot I'd the problem

55 means that It's the end of the obd2 codes and 12 means your battery has been disconnected within the last 50 ignition cycles. Check cam sensor and the wiring going to the asd relay. Get a test light or voltage meter and make sure you have power from the ecu to asd, asd to coil. I have seen you post this thread from a super long time ago why haven't you takin it to a mechanic or electrical auto shop? You did have a turbo bolted up didn't you?

Yes I've been working on this for a few years since it quit running on me. This is a last effort before I pull my parts and junk the body. When I spoke to a few shops they told me because it was a 95 they wouldn't touch it. If it were a 96 or later they would take a look at it. A few others wanted ridiculas amounts for trouble shooting

As far as the mods: turbo port dueler msd dis II but all of that is un-installed just trying to get the damn engine running.

Continuity from ASD to coil is good power supply from PCM to ASD is good. Relay cycles on initial key on. But shuts off. If I short the ASD to force power through it I get a CEL reporting a short in the ASD. The only thing I can come up with is that the CPS isn't showing the PCM that the crank is turning so the PCM isn't closing the ASD relay. I came up with this because I don't see a trigger signal going to the coil
Will a test light show the signal from CPS? Or is it too fast of a cycle.

Ran continuity test on all fuses all of the checked out but the radio which I replaced

Tap into the CPS sensor wires and turn it over. See if you are getting any signal. Then repeat at the ecu harness.

I have a 98 Eclipse Rs w/ turbo. I have a couple of ideas for you to try. Are cars have 3 sensor/with pin connectors that are exactly the same or look the same at least. One pin connector is on the transmission known as the speed sensor just under your battery. The other 2 are the knock sensor on the back of the engine block and oil pressure switch located by your oil filter. Check and make sure that they are connected to the correct sensors. If they are incorrectly placed your car, your car will initiate crank and appear to want to start and even maybe sometime almost start. I had a shop do a performance engine build and in the end they drop off the car at a Mitsubishi dealer to have it troubleshooted due to similar issues you currently have. The dealer tried new ECU's and never found the problem. I had to troubleshooted the problem myself for almost a month and l notice the connectors to these sensor were exactly the same. So I looked at the length of each connector an switch it around and found that my car was running. Hope this helps, Sorry for the novel.

I appreciate the responses. As far as the connector being hooked to the wrong sensor I have ran continuity tests on this circuit I have a good connection from the sensor to the pin out on the ECU.

However I have noticed that I do not see fluctuation on my tach when I am cranking the engine. I have a brand new Crank shaft sensor installed. What can cause this?

im having almost the exact same problem. here are my readings from the asd relay with key on... black/red 10.2 v, red/black 11.9 v, black/white 11.9 v, red/white 5.22 v. red/white causes asd relay to click when lead is touched. also thought it might be a good idea to check the measurements at the camshaft sensor as well. with key on... yellow 76.1 mv, blk/grn 18.8 mv, bl/rd .296 v. blk/grn causes asd relay to click when multimeter lead is touched. clicks once, pause, then again. with key off... yellow 0 mv, blk/grn 0 mv, bl/rd 2.5 mv. ckp sensor is new. just installed. also checked continuity in dis. if you find any new info or think of anything that would push this issue along, please let me/us know. thanks in advance.

Old post, I know...

On a '95, the ASD won't stay on if the car isn't running. When you key-on, it will turn on , then turn back off until the engine is cranked. The fuel pump relay is the same way.

Check that the ASD is on while cranking. If it is, then it's not your problem. Without checking a wiring diagram, the ASD should power both the coils and injectors (going by memory of the '92 Dodge's which use a very similar ECU and harness setup).
