95 N/T Eclipse, any common problems to look for?

I just picked up a 95 Eclipse GS for my son. I'll be driving it for the time being since he's about 9 months away from a license.

Are there any common issues this model has, or any issues or problems I should look for, check for, or even keep an eye out for?

The car has 76,000 miles.

No nothing major, just make sure the timming belt and the tensioners for that and the timming belt tensioner and tensioner belt have been changed, and other basic repairs has been done oil, coolant, plugs etc.

I "think" he said the timing belt was done at 68,000 miles.

That was one of the items I was concerned about, for sure. I was also wondering about engine and it's ability to handle mods. I'm a 44 year old long time car guy/gear head, but this is my first import ever, but I've already been looking at the aftermarket turbo kits and reading the DIY turbo kit threads that I was able to find on this site....

Yeah be careful though cause the non turbo and turbo motors are built different so the non turbo motor wont be able to handle it well but a complete turbo motor trans and ecu and engine harness can be bought for about 1000- 2000 depends if you can get a deal.
