just as the post states. it cranks but wont start.

i ran into the problem today around noon. i was tightening my fuel rail down and a bold snapped off an the secondd to the right. it fell all the way down in my engine bay. got that screw out and went to start her up and nothing it cranks and tries to start but nothing. i pulled my spark plugs they where black cleaned them a lil put them back in but nothin there is spark i can smell fuel when i pulled the plugs out. and i did a compression test last week 155-155-155-155. can anyone help.

no just tightening them down i noticed they where a little loose. but i went to my fuel pump and the black wire wasnt connected and i connected it but no start still it sounds like its going to start then it dies:(

ALRIGHT ILL go check that right now. . engine shakes really bad. belt started smoking tryin to get it started

Check the wiring to the cam angle sensor an crank angle sensor i had one of those come off an it wouldnt start.

ok so i took off my timing cover and the timing marks are facing the same way one is dead center and the other is dead center on the wrong side if you know what i mean.
when the car is about to start the engine slams up and down. (back motor mount is probably out.) i can hear the fuel pump working but dont know how to check the pressure. i just put in all new plugs. gapped .028. new spark plug wires put in correct order from chiltons manual. all intercooler hoses are on tight no boost leaks. i am completely lost on what to do. this is the second engine in this car since 1-19-08 and there is 26xxx miles on this 7 bolt and it wont start.(took off all mods of upgrades car is completely stock all the way down to the combs in the intake.

4 1 2 3 like it says right under it. but since its 97 top end intake and all would it be different?

i have all the things for it to start. spark, fuel, and compression, but it still wont turn over it just cranks and cranks and the belts start to smoke:beatentodeath::beatentodeath::beatentodeath::beatentodeath::beatentodeath::beatentodeath::beatentodeath::beatentodeath::beatentodeath::beatentodeath::beatentodeath::beatentodeath::beatentodeath::beatentodeath::beatentodeath::beatentodeath::beatentodeath::beatentodeath::beatentodeath::beatentodeath::beatentodeath::beatentodeath:

yeah i can crank it and im not to sure which belt is smoking but there was smoke coming from them after trying to start it for 5min. i found my coolant temp sensor unplugged. dont think it wouldnt start because o that. though hmm. unbolted my fuel rail and there was a shit load of fuel in it so i let it drain out. about to try to start it in a couple min once i get everything back together

:mad:so now it doesn evan #### ing crank over. it makes a sound like my battery is dead but i just baught a new one a week ago. and i got the battery checked at autozone and its good. does anyone know how to check the starter?

nope thats the only part on it thats 95. i have the spark plug wires right. im getting fuel im getting spark but now it doesnt evan crank

If you cranked your car for 5mins the battery is going to be flat. The coolant temp sensor unpluged will be your problem.

batteries die when you use them
obviously your battery is dead and the reason ## car probably isnt starting is ## CTS when you turn your key over the ecu reads the tempature of your coolant from that sensor and it regulates how much fuel to put in the cylinders
it its connected wrong or disconnected or the sensor is bad it could be throwing no fuel in your cylinders or a bunch of fuel which will flood your engine
if theres fuel all over your plugs then take your plugs out of your engine and buy new ones either wait for the fuel to evaporate in your cylinders or get a long grill lighter and some gloves and put it in threw your spark plug hole and light it watch your face though.

or remove all 4 plugs, unplug your injectors and coil pack and turn the motor over a few times, but be SURE to unplug both mentioned. If not, you WILL catch your engine on fire.....or so i've heard,or did haha
